NeNe Leakes isn’t so sure about signing up for another season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” but she’s thought about quitting before.
The cast veteran revealed to Arsenio Hall that she always debates leaving the show between cycles. It’s normal for her to contemplate her exit. “I usually think that every season. I do and I end up back!” NeNe said with a laugh.
Being on “RHOA” has been great for NeNe, but it hasn’t come without hassle. Sometimes the bad outweighs the good and production usually winds up “driving [her] insane” at some point.
“For me it’s like a blessing and a curse. It has definitely opened up so many doors of opportunity for me,” NeNe explained. “I have been able to do some of everything just from being on this platform, but at the same time it can be very negative and very draining.”
Speaking of negative and draining, Arsenio pointed out that having Kenya Moore (and all of the madness) on the show, might actually be a great thing for the series, which will enter season 7 later this year.
NeNe doesn’t think Kenya’s done anything to make “RHOA” more popular, though, “We had eyeballs before Kenya came around. It’s true! We did! We’ve always been the #1 show in the franchise.

NeNe gifts Louboutins to ‘DWTS’ partner
NeNe’s also faced some drama outside of “RHOA”! The Bravo reality star had a little tiff with her professional partner Tony Dovolani on “Dancing with the Stars” a few weeks ago, but they’re back on good terms.
As Tony explained, they were both just feeling a bit cranky the day NeNe stormed out of rehearsal and they made up with some pretty lavish gifts.
“We were both tired. We had flown red eye. You know when you just don’t want to be somewhere and you find the smallest thing to bother you. We both kind of had that moment,” said Tony, who brought a scepter out for his late night TV appearance. “The next day, we came back and we hugged each other. I brought her roses and she got me red bottoms. I think I’m gonna upset her more often.”
NeNe simply justified it with a shrug, stating, “I love to go shopping!”

Porsha Williams might not be fired for ‘RHOA’ reunion fight
NeNe’s been a central member of “RHOA” since it debuted in October of 2008. Over the years the show has seen some sweeping cast changes, and she’s the only original left standing on the series.
Seniority has come with some great benefits like a generous pay check, but sometimes NeNe doubts that the money is worth the violent turn “RHOA” has taken in season 6. She’s all for getting a little catty, but she’s not happy that things have gotten so physical with the cast.
“The pay is okay, but I don’t know if it’s really worth what you saw in the clip,” NeNe mused, speaking of the latest season 6 reunion episode. “It has changed a lot over the years. I thought–or at least I think–people would tune in to see ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ because they would get to see fabulousness and a good old read. Never the hair pulling and punching.”
While they were on the subject of cast fights, NeNe once again asserted her allegiance in regards to the reunion rumble between Kenya Moore and Porsha Williams. “I very much support Porsha. I am Team Porsha,” said NeNe, insisting that she wasn’t playing favorites in the situation. “If I felt Kenya was right, even though I’m not a Kenya fan–I’m very honest about that as well–I would side with her if I thought she was right.”
After crew members pried Kenya and Porsha apart, NeNe quickly covered Porsha’s mouth as the “Flatline” singer was left kicking and screaming on the ground. “I wanted her to be quiet because she was saying so much, and I didn’t want her to say something to incriminate herself. You know I know about being incriminated, child,” NeNe jokingly explained.
It’s been rumored by many that Porsha might be fired because she put her hands on Kenya. However, NeNe’s not so sure that Porsha will get the boot because there’s no zero-tolerance clause about violence in their contracts for “RHOA.” Even if she is on the chopping block, NeNe doesn’t think it would be right to cut her from show for the reunion brawl.
“It’s not fair to fire Porsha,” NeNe said. “Actually, I don’t think it was fair to ask Porsha to leave the reunion. I thought if she left, Kenya needed to leave. I felt they both needed to go.”
