Aretha Franklin denies fighting Patti LaBelle
Aretha Franklin has debunked rumors that she was arrested for brawling with Patti LaBelle last month.
Earlier this week, gossip circulated that the pair had gotten into an altercation on March 20 at an event in Atlanta after Aretha allegedly threw some shade at Patti during the White House’s Women of Soul concert. Patti supposedly approached Aretha during the Atlanta event about the unkind remarks and it was claimed that a fight quickly ensued.
Yesterday, however, Aretha released a statement proving that there was no way any such dust up could have occurred between the divas. “I’ve never heard anything crazier—regarding myself and Patti allegedly fighting on March 20, in Atlanta,” Aretha said in a statement, dismissing the rumors. “On March 20, I was in New York City readying for my birthday patty (Sorry. LOL. Laughing at my typo error). I meant PARTY, which we all had one fabulous time.”
She concluded, “Patti and I are cool and we always have been. I enjoyed her at the White House. Classic Patti.”
Patti has yet to speak out on the rumors herself.

Diddy getting honorary doctorate from Howard
Diddy is finally getting a diploma from Howard University! The hip-hop mogul started his college career at the HBCU in the late ’80s before dropping out to start Bad Boy Records. It was a great career move, but he never got his bachelor’s degree.
As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait! The Associated Press reports that Diddy will deliver the commencement speech at Howard this year, and he’ll be awarded an honorary doctorate in Humanities.
Diddy will be in good company as he is among five honorees at Howard’s commencement this year, including CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer.

The VH1 reality star made it clear before welcoming the baby that she intended to be in the gym ASAP, and she’s made good on her word! She won’t have much work to do once she’s cleared for exercise again since she’s naturally slimmed down quite a bit.
