This year movie fans celebrate the twentieth anniversary of “Poetic Justice,” John Singleton’s 1993 film starring Janet Jackson and Tupac Shakur where a beautician and mail man find love in the back of a truck on a road trip from South Central to Oakland.

Janet Jackson as Justice (because her momma wanted to be a lawyer) wore her hair in these thick braids under a floppy hat that have now been coined “Poetic Justice” braids.  We’re not sure if it’s the movie’s anniversary or the popularity of Kendrick Lamar’s tribute song, “Poetic Justice,” but the hair style has made a strong comeback.

However, these folks on Twitter are not feeling the trend, no matter what Beyonce or Solange are doing with their hair.
